CEO and Executive Director, Swisscontact
Samuel Bon has been CEO and Executive Director of Swisscontact since October 2011. With over 1100 employees worldwide Swisscontact runs a development portfolio of over 120 projects in 38 countries and an average annual grant and contract revenue of over US $100M. Samuel previously held senior executive positions at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), serving as Operations Coordinator for South-East Asia & Pacific and Emergency Response and Crisis Management Advisor to the Board of Directors. Between 1999 and 2006 he also held ICRC Delegate and Managing Director positions in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Congo, Sudan and Myanmar.
Samuel also serves on the Board of the Swiss Research Institute on Commodities (SRIC), the Advisory Board of the World Innovation Forum (WIF) and the Board of the Swiss humanitarian NGO Cheira.
He has an Executive MBA from IMD, Lausanne and M.A. in Theology & Social Ethics, University of Zürich.
